EA: airlift items in Battlefield V are not loot boxes

Electronics Arts has explained on Reddit what the Airlift Items from Battlefield V are exactly. According to the company, these are not loot boxes and are only cosmetic items. Some feared that airlifts were lootboxes with a different name, but EA denies this.

According to the EA employee , airlifts are nothing more than cosmetic items that allow players to adjust their characters. The content of these airlifts is set by Dice prior to making available to players and is the same for all recipients. According to EA, Airlifts do not lead to a performance or gameplay advantage for the receivers.

Airlifts are available in any case for those who have ordered the Deluxe Edition of Battlefield V. The owners of this edition receive an airlift every week for twenty weeks. Probably developer Dice will also release these airlifts to gamers who only purchase the basic version of the game.

Battlefield V is the successor of Battlefield 1 and takes place in the Second World War. The shooter was announced at the end of May , will end on October 19th and will not receive a premium pass or paid dlc’s; all new content is available free of charge. Tweakers made a preview of Battlefield V at the E3 fair.
