Sports Brand Puma will connect its name to smartwatches from next year. Although the company does not report it, chances are that Puma watches will run on Googles operating system Wear OS, the former Android Wear.

The first Puma smartwatches have to come on the market next year, according to Fossil Group . Puma has given a license to Fossil Group to make smartwatches with the brand name Puma until 2028. Fossil will design, have produced and distributed the watches.

Fossil Group already makes smartwatches under the brand names Skagen, Diesel, Emporio Armani, Fossil, Michael Kors and Misfit. Most new smartwatch models come from fashion brands , while technology companies have recently released fewer new models. The smartwatches are technically non-innovative and share many components, such as the screen and the soc.

Sagem Puma There are no details of the Puma watches yet. It is not the first time the sports brand has tried it on the mobile market. Eight years ago the Sagem Puma Phone came out, a feature phone with resistive 2.8 “touchscreen, and the phone was not a big success and Puma withdrew from the phone market.
