AMD gets part of first generation Ryzen CPUs from price list

AMD has removed part of the first Generation of Ryzen CPUs from its price list. The models are presumably no longer delivered and may soon go out of business, if the current stocks at shops are gone.

On the latest price list that AMD recently put online, all Ryzen 7 models of the first generation are missing and the Ryzen 5 1600X, the 5 1400 and the 3 1200 have also disappeared. The Ryzen 5 1500X, 5 1600 and the Ryzen 3 1300X are still on the list.

AMD released the second generation of its Ryzen Cpus on Thursday; there were four models for the time being: the Ryzen 7 2700X, 2700 and the Ryzen 5 2600X and 2600 . The new cpu’s are compatible with the AM4 motherboards with X370 chipset that appeared simultaneously with the first generation of Ryzen cpu’s.

Why AMD still offers part of the Ryzen CPUs of the first generation and another part has already been left out is not clear. It is also noticeable that AMD does not yet mention its new economical GE versions of the Ryzen 2000 apu’s in the price list.

The cpu’s that AMD has taken from its price list are still available at webshops, but those who buy a new system or upgrade a processor do not have to add much to the newer and faster cpu’s of the second generation. The former top model, the Ryzen 7 1800X, costs just under 300 euros, while the Ryzen 7 2700X is offered for less than 320 euros.
