application for displaying “real” 3D came out in the App Store

TheParallaxView Application of the Swedish developer Peter Norrbi, which AppleInsider.ru told last week, appeared in the Russian catalog of the App Store . The novelty, creating the illusion of “real” 3D, is completely free, but it is compatible only with the iPhone X.

The illusion of depth, created by TheParallaxView, is obtained through the operation of the TrueDepth camera and the ARKit framework. A smartphone with an installed application monitors the movements of the user’s head, turning the picture on the screen in such a way as to create the impression of volume as when watching 3D movies.

The application works in two modes. In the first user convex figures are shown, and in the second – a bottomless abyss. To get the illusion, it is recommended to observe the objects on the screen with only one eye. Obviously, this restriction is due to imperfections in the technology used.
