Wall Street Journal: Twitter and Bloomberg

Twitter plans to partner with Bloomberg News to launch a 24-hour television service on its social network, the Wall Street Journal reported on Monday.

The Wall Street Journal said in its report that it expected to officially announce the channel, which has not yet been named and is expected to start operations in the autumn of 2017, later on Monday.

If the report is confirmed, it comes at a time when Twitter has stagnated in the growth of its active users in recent years and is struggling to convince advertisers that it will strengthen its user base.

As part of these efforts, Twitter announced that its product offerings have been updated to include the possibility of live streaming from its application, and has launched a number of new features to attract new users.

The CEO and co-founder of Twitter, Jacques Dorsey, said in an internal memo last October that one of the company’s most important tasks is to be “a news network for people.”

Twitter pushed for a mobile news and sports platform last year, which analysts saw as an attempt by the company to persuade any media company to acquire it.
