Are you planning a surprise Valentine’s Day treat for your loved one? May it be a lavish dinner in a restaurant or a simple meal at home, what matters most is that you are able to show your affection and gratitude. If you have made reservations in a restaurant, then you will not have to be burdened with setting the mood. But if you are planning to prepare a simple meal at home, then you have to go through all the trouble.
Creating a Valentine’s Day feel is not as complicated as it seems. Simply consider the person/s you are preparing for and take it from there. If preparing for your parents, then a family banquet will be best. However, if it is for a spouse, set an intimate tone – a candlelit dinner for 2 works well. You can even ask your kids to join in the preparation by allowing them to help with creating and putting up Valentine’s Day décor. And since February 14 is only a few days away and time is not your friend, you can check out this last minute Valentine’s Day crafts for kids.
How to Make Hanging Hearts?
- Construction Papers (preferably red and white)
- Thread or twine
- Hole puncher
Valentine’s Day Tags Printout – You need to prepare this beforehand. Create your Valentine’s Day tag messages using your preferred software. Then print afterwards. Should you need ink and toner replacements, visit Toner Refill Store.
Step 1. Fold RED construction paper in half, crosswise. Make another fold, and then another one. Open and flatten the paper afterwards.
Step 2. Cut the paper following the folded lines. Line up the cut pieces. Repeat steps 1 and 2, now using WHITE construction paper.
Step 3. Get one piece of cut paper. Fold in half, crosswise. Then bring the two ends of paper together forming a letter M. You should be able to form a paper Heart. Fasten the paper heart using a stapler. See images.
Step 4. Repeat Step 3 for the remaining paper pieces. But this time, make sure that you connect one piece to the other (before securing with stapler). You should be able to form a chain of paper hearts. It would be best to alternate the colors to have a more festive effect.
Step 5. Cut the Valentine’s Day tag printouts. It is fitting to cut the tags in heart shapes to further emphasize the occasion.
Step 6. Punch a hole on the upper part of the heart shape tag. Then tie a thread on the hole. Bring the other end of the thread to the bottommost paper heart of the chain and make a knot. Loop a twine on top of the uppermost paper heart of the chain. See image.
The Last Minute Valentine’s Day Décor is now complete. All you have to do is plan the perfect spot to hang the Valentine’s Day crafts for kids.
