Foodie Friday: S'mores on the Grill!

Can you believe it's already the end of July?! That means we're wrapping up BBQ month here at Beezid! But before you get too disappointed, we'll probably throw in a few more fiery hot recipes off the grill since summer only comes around once a year.

We've been trying to provide a variety of dishes so that there's something for everyone to try at least once! From chicken and pork to ribs and salmon, we hope you've put on your chef's hat and given at least one of these recipes a go. But you know what comes after every good meal?! An even better dessert. So we're going to end BBQ month on an ultra sweet note!

Get ready to make S'mores galore! We've got three different ways to prepare these warm and gooey treats, so let's fire up the barbecue!

For the banana boats, you'll need:

  • 1 banana per person
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Mini chocolate chips (dark, semi sweet, white, peanut butter, etc.)
  • Tin foil

Here's what you'll have to do:

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. With the peel intact, create a deep slice through the middle of the banana. Make sure not to puncture the bottom of the peel.
  3. Stuff the banana with all the toppings and create a boat out of tin foil that holds the fruit upright.
  4. Place on the barbecue for 4-5 minutes or until the peel darkens and the ingredients melt together!
  5. Let it sit for 1-2 minutes and dig in!

For the campfire cones, you'll need:

  • Sugar or waffle cones
  • Marshmallows
  • Mini chocolate bars (Reese's peanut butter cups, rolos, etc.) or pieces of broken chocolate
  • Bananas, raspberries, strawberries
  • Tin foil

And here's what you'll have to do:

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. Stuff the cones with your own mixture of any or all of the toppings.
  3. Wrap the cone in tin foil and place it on the grill for 5-8 minutes.
  4. Enjoy!

For the traditional s'mores, you'll need:

  • Graham crackers
  • Marshmallows
  • Hershey's Chocolate (milk or dark)

And here's what you'll need to do:

  1. You know how this is done! Stack a marshmallow and a piece of chocolate in between two graham crackers.
  2. Wrap in tin foil and place on the grill for 5-8 minutes.
  3. Dig into the warm, gooey deliciousness!

You don't need to go camping to enjoy one of the sweetest treats out there! Just fire up the Grill and try them three different ways! They're the perfect post-barbecue dessert and kids will love creating their very own customized confections!
