Contrary to what was previously believed, the latest handphone offering from HMD may not be a midrange Phone.

The phone was first spotted in digital posters in a Chinese movie theatre about two weeks ago. Now, the wireless authority China Compulsory Certification (CCC) shows a listing for the two long-rumoured Nokia X models.

The listing, first spotted by Nokiamob.net, indicates that a 5V/2A charger is bundled with the Nokia X models TA-1109 and TA-1099. This charger is a regular one which means the phone won’t be supporting any fast charging technology.

The original Nokia X launched in February 2014 was a low-end smartphone. If the two unknown models are indeed successors of the original one, it’s no surprising that they will follow suit.

HMD is set to unveil the phone this Friday, April 27. However, we’ve not heard of any hype surrounding the launch so it could mean this is not a flagship phone.

No other details about the two models were specified on the listing so we just have to wait until the announcement.

The original Nokia X had dual-SIM support and ran on a 1GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor. It had a 4-inch display and was based on the Android Open Source Project (AOSP) corresponding to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean.

Whether the new one is going to be a better version, we’ll have to wait and see.
