Chinese smartphones in India | Twitter hacked | RBI KYC guidelines 2023 | Qualcomm Satellite Communication | ISRO achievements | Microsoft startups | Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 update | Snapcam download | Redmi K60 | JIO 5G | Samsung OLED

Hello readers, I am back to share some of the most recent tech updates that you should be aware of, and if you want to know more about me, you can move to the about section at the homepage or check in author detail.

But you should always know that I will provide you with the best news, which is obviously technical, because non-technical news has many sources, but technical news is my favourite subject to discuss because I am very interested in it.

So, before we begin, if you haven't read my previous blog where I discussed the CES 2023, please do so by clicking here, and now we will begin the news with more vigor.

1. Chinese smartphones overall in India.

I remember that whenever we buy smartphones or lights for Diwali or any toy or any electronics device, we used to say that these are Chinese products, which means they are of low quality or may not be able to run for a day or may run for a year. This is why the Chinese are famous for making electronic items.

But then the coin was flipped, and both sides were Chinese, particularly in India. In India, Modi, our PM, tried to introduce "made in India" terms to dominate the Indian market, but then, from Diwali lights to smartphones, which cost up to lakhs of rupees or more, sometimes they are of Chinese origin, and they are dominating now also.

So, as a businessman or politician, they will say, "Try our products," and so on, but I have one question: Why are your products not market comparable? I like the FAUG game that was introduced to us, but what do you think of it? Can FAUG replace PUBG? Can the LAVA phone replace Xiaomi phones? And one thing leads to another.

As a result, India, at least in my opinion, needs to work harder to dominate the electronics market. If you have any thoughts on this, please leave them in the comment box below this blog.

Despite heightened scrutiny from regulatory and tax authorities, Chinese smartphone manufacturers Xiaomi, Oppo, Realme, and Vivo continued to rule the Indian market in 2022.

According to industry observers, the cautious stance of some of these companies, particularly the major names Samsung, Apple, Nokia, and Nothing, may allow rivals to capture a larger market share in 2023.

2. Twitter was hacked, and 200 million emails were leaked.

We used to write essays as kids about whether science was a blessing or a curse. So now it is again repeated, and the topic is to be discussed: does the advancement in technology cause more vulnerability? We rely heavily on this social site, and we have given them a lot of information because we trust them, but that is not the case.

StayMad, the hacker, allegedly hacked all of the personal data of over 200 million people, including high-profile accounts like Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Donald Trump Jr., SpaceX, CBS Media, the NBA, the WHO, and others.

Officials have already launched an investigation, which implies that the new data attack is similar to the one observed in December 2022, when the hacker described himself as Ryushi and disclosed the data of 400 million users on the black web.

Mention your thoughts about this hacking and the advancement of technology in the comment box below.

3. The RBI has mandated KYC once again.

KYC is once again required, and in my opinion, it is necessary to do the KYC in a fixed term to keep all the reports up-to-date, but the process in the bank is very hectic.

I never liked it. SBI's process, in my opinion, is that, despite having advanced technology, they have some way to take a copy of an aadhar card or a PAN, but they prefer to do it the old-fashioned way by having a xerox made of them.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) published a periodic update of KYC (Know Your Customer) data for clients on Thursday. According to the central bank, a new KYC procedure may be completed in person at a bank branch or remotely via a video-based Customer Identification Process (V-CIP).

The RBI stated that in some circumstances, when the KYC papers accessible in bank records do not adhere to the current list of officially recognised documents, a new KYC procedure or paperwork may be required.

Please mention your thoughts in the comment section below the blog, because individual thought is very important to discuss in any conversation to make it ideal.

4. Qualcomm will enable two-way messaging through satellite.

Companies are practising many things beneath the surface and launching projects based on the perfection achieved, and some projects are cancelled because they were not perfect. CES 2023 shows the best product of the company and how to attract consumers through it, and if you haven't read my previous blog about CES 2023, you can do so by clicking here.

Qualcomm revealed a satellite-based two-way texting function for smartphones at the 2023 Consumer Electronics Show on Thursday (CES 2023). The Snapdragon Satellite solution from Qualcomm will enable users to send and receive emergency messages, SMS, and texts on other messaging apps on Android handsets throughout the world.

The capability will first be available on handsets based on Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 mobile platform. Apple's newer iPhones, the iPhone 14 series, include a similar capability that allows users to send emergency SOS texts through satellite connectivity, and they've been launched in a few countries only, so in my view, Qualcomm will also release this feature only for some of the main countries excluding India.

As this Technology is at an advanced level and can be helpful to many users, it will be launched first for the smartphone, then for the car tablet, laptop, and other devices that can be used in an emergency.

5. ISRO and Microsoft will support startups together.

What could be better news than this: that Microsoft and ISRO will work together in India to advance the space technology startups there? Please mention your thoughts on this and make a comment in the comment box below.

The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and Microsoft inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Thursday to support the expansion of Indian space technology start-ups. The MoU aims to provide technological tools and platforms, as well as go-to-market support and mentorship, to space tech start-ups across the country in order to help them expand and become enterprise-ready.

This partnership comes while Microsoft Chairman and CEO Satya Nadella is in town for the Microsoft Future Ready Technology Summit. According to Microsoft, the alliance aims to boost ISRO's ambition of tapping the market potential of India's most promising space tech inventors and entrepreneurs.

6. Windows 7 and 8.1 will not receive any further updates.

It's very sad to see that the technology that taught us how to use computers, familiarised us with the internet, and was with us since childhood will no longer be useful. As we all know, the only thing constant in the world is change, and this is how it is.

As previously reported on January 10, Microsoft decided to stop providing security updates and technical support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1. The statement comes on the heels of the release of Microsoft Edge 109, the last edition to support out-of-date operating systems.

Although the browser will continue to work on these devices, there will be no essential security updates or new features. On January 10, support for WebView2, a technology that allows developers to embed web-based information into their programmes, will also be ended.

So, which operating systems are you using? I use Windows 11, which I updated as soon as it was available, but Windows 7 or 8.1 are very nostalgic for me because their opening style and shut-down process are very familiar to us. Mention your thoughts also, saying what you think of this in the comment box below.

7. The SnapCam will be removed from your phone.

So, do you use camera filters? Do you use SnapCam for your gallery? So this is the last time for all of the users to fill the gallery by using SnapCam because you will not be able to use it further. And in the end, please share your thoughts in the comment section below.

Yes, users will be very sad to hear that the Snap camera will not be used by the user anymore. I haven't used Snap much, and I never use the filter provided by them or Instagram, but some of the users use this feature in such a frequent way that they may forget there is an official app provided by the smartphone company.

One of its greatest and most well-known features is its filters, which allow users to experiment with various appearances and have fun with some ridiculous ones. With the Snap Camera, Snap Camera was able to bring these fantastic effects to PC, allowing customers to take advantage of them over years of video conversations.

Unfortunately, the app is being shut down and uninstalled, with its final days only a few weeks away. Snap Inc. has updated its Snap Camera support website, confirming that the app will be discontinued on January 25, 2023. According to the site, after that date, the app will no longer be available for download or usage.

And they're also providing a guide for you on how to switch to the main cameras and all, and if you have any further problems doing this, then please contact me, because I will be very glad to help you guys.

Launch after launch

1. The Redmi K60 will be launched soon.

We've heard a lot about this set, and in my opinion and in my previous blog, I mentioned how successful the K20 series was, so let's wait for it to be released, but what do we know about it? They are listed below.

The Redmi K60 series was released in China a few weeks ago, in December 2022. The Redmi K60 series, which includes three versions—the standard Redmi K60, the Redmi K60 Pro, and the Redmi K60E—is anticipated to arrive in India soon.

While the precise launch date in India has not been disclosed, Xiaomi has confirmed the series' planned pricing range in India. The smartphones are scheduled to be launched in India at a price of more than Rs. 30,000.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC power the Redmi K60 and Redmi K60 Pro, respectively, while the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset powers the Redmi K60E.

If you're interested in this product, please leave a comment and I'll tell you more about it in the box below.

2. JIO 5G service in Odisha

Jio and Airtel are expanding service, and I think every month they are announcing a new state where they cover 5G service, and now I am waiting for Bhagalpur to be numbered in this, as I also want to try this service in my town, and if we get that free too, then it will be like the cherry on top.

Jio began its 5G services in Odisha on Thursday, beginning with Bhubaneswar and Cuttack. "The temple city of Bhubaneswar and the silver city of Cuttack will be the first towns to receive Jio True 5G services from today," stated Reliance Jio in a statement.

3. Samsung's new OLED display with 2,000 nits of brightness

This CES always represents the best of the devices from the companies, and now Samsung has unveiled its best screen, which is OLED and can provide up to 2,000 nits of brightness, and I think this is the maximum update for the screen that will be used in the Samsung phone.

This year at CES, Samsung is displaying its latest goods, including new TVs, monitors, smartphones, and even linked gadgets such as the SmartThings Station.

While the company has an impressive product lineup heading into the new year, it also has new technology to show off, such as its recent achievement of having one of its smartphone OLED displays certified, making it one of the first OLED displays to receive the highest 2,000 nit luminance verification.

These screens may soon appear in Galaxy smartphones or tablets. So aren't you excited to have a view like that? And which screen does your current phone have? Mention that in the comment section below, because I am glad to know about that.

So that's from my side, and if you like the content, please review and comment, and please share it with your friends and relatives who have the craze to be updated in this technology field.

I'll be back tomorrow with more tech news and an update; in the meantime, keep smiling and staying healthy.
