HTC Supersonic, the Sprint’s First WiMAX Phone

Even though HTC MAX 4G (GSM) hits FCC but it seem Sprint will bring the first Wimax phone (CDMA) in the US.

Apparently Sprint will add another Android-based Smartphone in its portfolio. Start from HTC Hero, Samsung Moment and soon the HTC A9292 (Supersonic).

HTC Supersonic has large 4.3inch (480 x 800) capacitive touch screen powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8650 1 GHz processors. Operates the latest Android 2.1. Some sources called this ‘Flan’ but it is actually still considered part of ‘Eclair’.

We don’t have any information regarding WiMAX chip but it is presumably utilized Beceem BCSM250 single-chip mobile WiMAX solution. It’s the same chip inside Sprint Overdrive 3G/4G.
