Sea of Stars Has Been Delayed to 2023

Sea of Stars, the highly anticipated prequel to The Messenger, will now release in 2023.

Sabotage Studio announced via Discord and Twitter, that their Chrono Trigger-inspired RPG needs a little longer in the oven.

Needless to say, delaying Sea of Stars is a tremendous disappointment. But a delayed game is better than an undercooked one.

Here’s the official message from Sabotage Studio:

A Word from the Team

As we are closing in on a very big milestone the road to launch becomes clearer, and we find ourselves here with a large body of text and our logos at the bottom. Keeping in mind our two main priorities—quality of life for our team and quality of the finished game—we can now confirm that Sea of Stars will be released in 2023.

We understand waiting is a big ask, and want to sincerely thank our community for the overwhelming support and positive vibes. In the meantime, we are looking at options to get a playable slice out to everyone this year

All the love,
Saboteam

Earlier this year, I had the chance to attend a hands-off demo of Sea of Stars. The game quickly became one of my most anticipated games of 2022. I’m really looking forward to the “playable slice” they mentioned. Especially if I can try out that simple, yet deep, fishing mini-game.
