Pokémon Go Will Celebrate The Festival of Colors Globally For The First Time!

The month of March is here, and it’s time for the Festival of colors – Holi. And it’s also the time for the fans of Pokemon Go to enjoy the game to celebrate the festival of Holi inside the augmented reality world of Pokemon.

This will be the third time Niantic is bringing an Indian festival to Pokemon GO, and this time, it’s going global. Last year, Niantic brought both Holi and Diwali to Pokemon Go. However, last year, the Festival of Colors event was only available to Indian users. But, this year, the Festival of Colors is going global, meaning every Pokemon Go player across the globe can participate in the event.

The Festival of Colors will begin on 15th March, and it’ll end on 20th March. The event will have Trainers from across the globe join in to celebrate with a wide range of colorful Pokémon appearing during the festival. The Festival of Colors 2022 promises to add more excitement as part of the new Season of Alola.

Last year, the Festival of Colors was India’s first regional in-game event, where Indian trainers experienced a fluttering of festive hues. Pokémon associated with different colors of the Festival of Colors was attracted to Incense more frequently than normal. Two Avatar costumes were released for all Trainers as part of the Festival of Colors celebration.

“Trainers in India were also able to complete a series of Timed Research tasks to receive various in-game rewards. Before the event, the India Wayfarer Challenge was also announced, and Trainers were awarded a bonus after the event.”

“Niantic has been ramping up operations in India since 2021 with events such as the Festival of Lights. During The Festival of Colors, a new Pokémon Dedenne was released and a rangoli-inspired avatar outfit,” the developer said in a press statement.

Niantic will be providing more details on the Festival of Colors event in the coming days on its social media handles. So, you can follow Niantic on the social media platform of your choice if you want to get the latest updates on the upcoming event.
