Flipkart has introduced a new subscription-like service, called Flipkart SmartPack, that lets you buy smartphones for absolutely free. Well, up to some sort. Here are all the details of the offer.
Flipkart guarantees money-back, or refund up to 100% on the smartphones purchased through the scheme, after 12 or 18 months of buying it. The customer will have to pay a monthly fee, depending upon the plan they choose if they buy smartphone through this scheme. Flipkart users will be able to buy smartphones through the service starting January 17, 2021.
Not only you’ll get up to 100% of your money back, but Flipkart is also offering subscriptions to a lot of third party apps and services under the scheme. These services include Voot Select, Sony Liv, Zee5 Premium, Zomato Pro, Gaana Plus, Practo, Tinder Plus, and the company’s own Complete Mobile Protection Pack. Flipkart says a lot of other brands will join this list later. The list of brands that are yet to join the list includes Chai Point, Myntra, Barbeque Nation, Uber, and US Polo.
There are some brackets that the company has set. Flipkart says you can buy any smartphone under the scheme, up to Rs. 17,000, and then choose an appropriate pack on top which then decides the amount of money you’ll receive. The Bronze plan, under which Flipkart will refund 60% of the smartphone amount will cost you Rs. 399 per month. The Silver plan, under which Flipkart will refund 80% of the smartphone amount will cost you Rs. 699 per month. The Gold plan, under which Flipkart will refund 100% of the smartphone amount will cost you Rs. 879 per month.
Flipkart says it will buy back the phone as long as they are able to see the phone’s IMEI. The company says
You can even retain the device at the end of tenure. Flipkart says that the customer will see an option on your Flipkart SmartPack details page where the customer can indicate that you want to retain your Device. You will also receive a partial refund from Flipkart in case you retain the device!
Flipkart SmartPack is now live on the Flipkart homepage, and the users will be able to buy smartphones under the scheme from 17th January.
