While we are hard at work working on Oneplus Nord’s review, I’m pretty sure that you have heard of it. The OnePlus Nord has generated an immense amount of ‘hype’ that one could only think of. A good marketing campaign, a good price, and with the help of tech influencers, OnePlus has managed to draw a lot of attention towards its new smartphone — OnePlus Nord. But are they cutting the cost by using a cheap display?
“WITH GREAT POWER COMES GREAT RESPONSIBILITY“
Last week, users on the product forums and Reddit started reporting that the OnePlus’ Nord Display began to suffer from a screen tint issue which caused the display to turn green when the brightness was lowered to 25%. Now, this isn’t really that concerning, but it’s more of a quality-control issue that OnePlus phones generally face during the initial shipments. It has happened in the past too.
As you can clearly see in the video, our unit of OnePlus Nord does not experience any kind of green tint, that some users are facing. It’s highly unlikely that if you order an OnePlus Nord that it’ll face the same issues, since it has impacted a very few devices.
OnePlus Responds
In a conversation with 9to5Google, OnePlus said:
“OnePlus Nord comes with a high quality 90 Hz AMOLED screen. Under specific circumstances of low brightness, a slight display discoloration may occur due to the properties of the AMOLED display – this is characteristic of all OLED displays and the degree of discoloration will vary depending on other properties of the display. This is not a quality issue and will not affect daily usage or the durability of the screen. OnePlus Nord Display will continue to look into cutting-edge display technologies and strive to deliver the best user experience possible.”
Even though OnePlus says that it’s a Nord Display quality-issue, OnePlus claims it can address the issue via an OTA update. We’ll update the article as soon as the update goes live!
