Death Stranding PC Version To Support NVIDIA’s DLSS 2.0 For 100+ FPS on ALL RTX GPUs

NVIDIA has now revealed that Death Stranding PC version will indeed have DLSS 2.0 support. In a new press release, NVIDIA says that DLSS on Death Stranding will guarantee 100+ FPS at 1440p or a smooth 60+ FPS at 4K on all GeForce RTX GPUs. That’s quite a statement, and if the game manages to deliver on those expectations, then I’ll be very much looking forward to similarly well-optimized games for next-gen.

“DEATH STRANDING already has the reputation of being a visual stunner, but NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 helps make the PC debut something special. The extra performance NVIDIA DLSS 2.0 delivers in DEATH STRANDING allows gamers to unlock the vast graphical potential of the PC platform by increasing the graphics settings and resolution, delivering on the vision we have for the game.” – Akio Sakamoto, CTO KOJIMA PRODUCTIONS.

In case you were wondering whether you’ll be able to play Death Stranding on your system, have a look at the official system requirements:

When the game made its debut last year, it ran at 30 FPS (1080p) on base PS4 and 4K (checkerboarded 2160p) on PS4 Pro. To achieve the same 1080p 30fps target, you’ll need a relatively competent system. However, the introduction of DLSS 2.0 should let all RTX owners rest easy. We recently went over the tensor-core powered technology and were extremely impressed in its implementation in Control.

NVIDIA also revealed some brand new 4K PC exclusive screenshots in their blog post. Check them out below:

While DLSS didn’t arrive in its best shape at Turing’s launch, the revamped 2.0 update has done wonders for the handful of games that support it. Death Stranding already looked great on PS4, so it has that extra performance advantage with high framerates on PC is neat. We’ll also get a first look at how the Decima engine performs on PC, and perhaps that will reveal more details about Horizon Zero Dawn’s PC debut as well. However, I don’t think that game will support DLSS, as it looks like it’s an AMD partnered title.

Death Stranding will release on PC (Steam & Epic Games Store) on July 14. The game released on PS4 last year to positive reviews, and we’re looking forward to how the PC version fares.
