4. Kali Gajar ka Halwa

With the onset of winters and the chilly embrace, Gajar ka Halwa definitely rules the line up of Winter Delights. You might have eaten gajar ka halwa, made of orange carrots but ever had kali gajar ka halwa?

Kali gajar ka halwa is made of purple/black carrots, specifically found in limited parts of North India, like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab. Black or purple carrots are believed to have 40 percent more beta carotene than the regular orange carrots. Although the method of preparation is similar to our usual gajar ka halwa. If you haven’t eaten it, then don’t miss out to try this toothsome Lucknowi delicacy. 

5. Sohan Halwa

Sohan halwa is a rich winter delicacy that is purely made in ghee. It is prepared using cornflour, sugar, milk and dry fruits. Its preparation is done a day before and is cooked overnight. This delicacy is worth a try and is sure to leave you spellbound.
