Google Pixel 4A Latest Update on Chipset and Models

Rumors about the Google Pixel 4a have appeared online over the past few days, and it looks like the American giant will release their mid-range device soon.

Some leaked information suggests that the Pixel 4a will be available in 4 different variants and will be based on a whole new processor.

The chipset

It is believed that the base Google Pixel 4a will be powered by a Snapdragon 730 chipset and most likely won’t include 5G support.

The models

The variants’ codenames of the Pixel 4a will be inspired by various kinds of fish, just like they were on all the previous Google smartphones. The three upcoming Google smartphones will be available with the codenames sunfish, redfin, and bramble.

XDA Developers almost confirmed that sunfish refers to the Google Pixel 4a smartphone, and the other two codenames might be assigned for mid-range variants of the Pixel 4a series.

Some rumors claim that Google is also working on a Pixel 4a XL (and even a separate 5G version).

The powerful Snapdragon 765 chipset will power the Pixel 4a 5G.

Screen size and release date

The sunfish Google Pixel 4a will be slightly bigger than the Pixel 3a, with a 5.8-inch screen.

The Pixel 4a smartphone is likely to hit the market in the first quarter of 2020, or at least before the first half of this year ends.

However, Google will make sure to reveal relevant details about the Pixel 4a when the timing is right. Until then, we have to be patient and hope that Google won’t disappoint.

Here is a YouTube video that sums up most of the leaks about the Pixel 4a:
