Why the coronavirus lockdown is making internet stronger than ever?

The Internet has come a very long way since it has become a big part of our day-to-day life.
Due to this lockdown, internet traffic increased by around a quarter as per CloudFare reports as Stay-at-home entertainment is also booming.

Gone are the days of the Information Superhighway or infobahn and – uh-oh – ICQ.
Now, we can devour an entire series of primetime drama in a day itself as there are many big content creators in the market like AmazonPrime, Netflix, Hotstar and many more.
Also, it is noticed that video conferencing has also been playing a major role in companies due to work from home culture because of this lockdown. More people started using the video-conferencing software Zoom in the first two months of 2020 than in all of 2019.

There is a sudden spike in Internet usage as we are also using it at different times and in different places. Instead of an after-work peak at 7.30 p.m., there is now a peak just before lunch.

But this increase in internet users due to COVID19 has revolutionized our internet as well, this big content creators like Netflix, Disney+ has cut down their video quality to prevent the buffering time, Microsoft and many gaming platforms has stopped sending updates which is why even after increasing internet usage it still seems fine.

Telecommunication companies like Comcast, online content creators Netflix, online shopping players like Amazon, cloud storage providers like Dropbox host of other data centers and cloud services—have piped in new connections and wired up millions of superfast servers.

2 decades ago, when there was less internet usage and we use AD Hoc networks to handle internet traffic and have limited bandwidth due to which internet speed is also slowed down. At that time, even if any big news published then the internet gets crashed due to the load.

But now, there are many online businesses that are using cloud-based services such as AWS( Amazon Web Services) to handle traffic of the website and still run the website smoothly without crashing.
Whereas there are other big players in the internet marketer who uses there own dedicated servers and hence making it easier for their platforms without any hiccups.
