Amazon spent the last week highlighting a nationwide hiring push, headlined by the six-city Career Day event yesterday, in a bid to fill more than 30,000 open positions. Now its recruiting teams have a massive virtual stack of resumes to sift through.

Amazon said it has received 208,000 Job Applications online since it announced Career Day last Monday. Amazon also released some new numbers on how many people turned out for Career Day, though it didn’t give an overall attendance figure or city-by-city breakdown.

More than 5,000 people showed up for Career Day in Arlington, Va., where Amazon is building out its second North American headquarters. Overall, the company said recruiters conducted more than 4,500 interview-training sessions and reviewed more than 7,000 resumes on site.

In addition to Arlington, Amazon held Career Day events in Seattle, Boston, Chicago, Dallas and Nashville.

Despite the presence of HQ2 and Amazon’s portfolio of growing tech hubs across the U.S., its home state of Washington remains the biggest hiring hotbed. Of the nearly 32,000 jobs available on Amazon’s website Wednesday morning, 10,700 of them were in the “Greater Seattle Area.”

The company didn’t disclose any information about its Seattle Career Day event. However, jobseekers reported long lines and wait times, with plenty of people eager to get their foot in the door at Amazon.
