Despite all doubts and disputes relating to the project El Petro, Venezuelan Cryptocurrency recently received the Award Satoshi Nakamoto for “outstanding contribution to the development of the blockchains”.
The merits of a national cryptocurrency of Venezuela has not gone unnoticed for the Russian Association of cryptocurrency and blockchain ( RAKIB ), which was awarded this award.
The award ceremony took place in Russia in the world trade center during the international Congress BLOCKCHEIN-2018, which was attended by the Ambassador of Venezuela Carlos Faria Rafael Tortosa.
The award further reinforces suspicions about the involvement of Russian officials in the Venezuelan cryptocurrency project.
It is known that the Deputy Minister of industry and trade of the Russian Federation Oleg Ryazantsev was in April in Venezuela, and among other things discussed with the authorities the issue of the use of Petro El as a possible means of payment between countries.
Recently, the widely circulated “Interim report” it was claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin directly helped the project. The Russian government has denied any suggestion of his involvement in the development of cryptocurrency.
The President of the United States Donald trump, by contrast, has banned the use of Petro in the United States.
Previously, CCN reported that the President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, may have falsified data on the total amount of investment collected ICO El Petro. Despite all this, Maduro has defended his project and even plans to create a new cryptocurrency Petro Gold. The token would be backed by gold reserves of the country, which are considered to be the second largest in the world, with the possibility of production of seven thousand tons.
