If you have chosen a free plan on Mega, then you would have a limitation of being able to transfer or download up to 5GB only per day. You would know your available limited quota as Mega shows this on your screen and once you have exceeded this, you would get notified as well. Though, in the past it would take a day before you would be able to download and transfer again, currently, Mega would just ask you to wait for 2 hours only for you to be able to continue with your free plan. How to Bypass Mega’s Daily Download Limits
Use VPN Service
Mega is able to measure your transferring and downloading allowance by tracking your IP address. In other words, Mega would check the amount of data that is being transferred through your IP address. Hence, once it detects that you have exceeded your transfer quota, you will receive a message stating that you will need to wait for 2 hours. By using VPN, you will be able to Bypass the transfer quota. There are numerous VPN service providers but we highly recommend NordVPN.
Cloudflare WARP
We often use 1.1.1.1 with Warp by Cloudflare. Cloudflare is a public DNS resolver and WARP works as a VPN. This means by using Cloudflare WARP, you will be able to browse the internet privately. Moreover, you will be able to bypass the transfer and download quota. This platform is offered for free and it is also ad-free.
- Download and install Cloudflare WARP App on your Computer or any device.
- Click on the WARP icon and click on the toggle switch to connect.
- Click on the settings icon
- Ensure that 1.1.1.1 with WARP is checked or selected
- WARP VPN would then be connected
- Reload the MEGA page and try to download the file again.
MegaBasterd -Mega Downloader
MegaBasterd is an open source and cross-platform Mega downloader/uploader. It allows its users to stream video files and it has smart proxy settings. It could also bypass MEGA daily download limit.
- Download the latest version of Java for Windows
- Install it on your Windows PC
- Go to the link and download Zip file of MegaBasterd
- Extract the downloaded files through 7Zip or better yet, you could right click on it
- Click on Extract all>Extract
- Inside the MegaBasterdWINDOWS folder, you will find MegaBasterd batch file
- Run it as administrator
- You will receive a warning and you will be asked to create an API key
- Click No
- On the file menu, click edit
- Select settings
- Select change it. This is to change the download folder
- On the download window, look for Use SmartProxy option
- Enable it
- Get proxy details from any free proxy list site and enter the proxy details on the SmartProxy section
- Click on the Save button
- Close settings window
- Copy the MEGA file URL
- Copy root folder link
- Click on file>New Download
- Paste MEGA file link
- Click on Let’s dance button
- Once the folder link gets detected
- Select the files that you would wish to download
- Remove files that you would not want to download
- Click let’s dance button
- Files will then start downloading
