The Essential Red Dead Redemption 2 Starter Guide

Newbies often get confused while entering Red Dead Redemption and try to figure out what to do in the first few hours of entering the game. The game can really get on your nerves if you are not aware of its mechanics.

Fret not. We are here to the rescue. We’ve prepared this extensive guide on how to play Red Dead Redemption 2, especially for beginners. There are many best Red Dead Redemption 2 hacks available out there that can make the game a bit less complicated for you.

If you want to explore these secret tips and hacks, keep reading this article till the end.

Loot, loot, and loot

In the opening chapter of Red Dead Redemption, two heinous gunfights take place, and a lot of your enemies will die in that. Take that advantage and loot whatever you see in front of you.

You will enter the game with $30 in your pocket, but that’s not enough to survive for long. You will spend the money and the ammo over time in the game. Therefore, pick up whatever you see in front of you and loot as much as you can.

You will see a hand-drawn black X on the minimap. It will lead you to every spot or dead guy you can loot. Scan every drawer, cabinet, wardrobe, and chest. You may not always find cash, but pick up whatever you find as they prove useful later in the game.

Don’t haste

You won’t find continuous action in Red Dead Redemption. There will not be gunfights after gunfights in the game. Instead, you will have wide areas to explore and missions to complete. It’s a game to be enjoyed and not devoured; hence, take time to explore everything and don’t rush.

If you go slow, you will discover more in the game and find more resources for your usage. When you enter the game, you won’t have to rush anywhere. The game won’t tell you to participate in any gunfight.

You can either go to see what’s going on on the map or hunt or, if you wish, take part in the missions on the yellow circle on the map. Take time to observe everything happening around you and play at your own pace.

Use deadeye

Deadeye is the mechanic that slows time so that you can mark and kill opponents successfully. It’s a crucial feature of the game, and you must know the right way of using it. If you just have a couple of enemies against you, you may not want to use it.

If you are on horseback, you should use the dead eye. Riding and aiming at the same time can get difficult, and you are at the risk of losing your life. Hence, it’s best to use the feature while you are on horseback and get some assured kills.

You can upgrade your dead eye by completing some missions. Keep that in mind to make your dead eye more powerful.

Understand cores

In the game, you will have to be conscious about three things at all times- health, Stamina, and the deadeye. Each of these is represented in a circle, and the white outline around them shows the level.

When you get shot, your health meter will drop. If you climb up a mountain, your stamina will decrease. If you slow down time for long, the dead eye will deplete.

There are icons at the center of each circle. An eye for the dead eye, a heart for health, and a lightning bolt for stamina. These cores affect the stats of each circle. If they are empty, regeneration will be very slow.

You’ve to be careful and not take risks repeatedly that degrade your health and stamina. Also, don’t use the dead eye every time you have to take down an enemy.

To maintain your health, take cover all the time. Walk instead of running to maintain your stamina, and the dead eye refills when you get assured kills. Keep these in mind and play accordingly.

Final words

The above-mentioned are some of the essential things you must be aware of when playing Red Dead Redemption 2. As a beginner, things might seem a bit confusing, but with patience and practice, you will find your way out. Let us know if you’ve any other queries in the comment section.
