Creepy Things to Ask Alexa

Tags: alexa creepy

If you own or planning to have Alexa in your home, you would have probably heard that sometimes she could listen to you even if you have not said her name. However, there are times when she would ask you to repeat something even when you have not said anything at all to her. Yes, we agree, this seem to be creepy.

A year ago, it has been said that Amazon actually employs thousands of people listening to your Alexa recordings. The reason behind this is for improving AI and help understand human speech.

Creeper -Amazon Alexa

It has been said that Alexa is actually a spy that you are willingly welcomed into homes. It could collect and save things that you say which are then used as data to improve its intelligence. With this, why not use it to your advantage and to your entertainment and ask it some creepy questions as well and find out her answers?

Alexa Creepy Stories

Laughing Randomly

There are times when Alexa’s answers would creep you out. However, nothing gets more creepy when Alexa starts to laugh out loud out of no where. One owner/user has reported that while he was lying in bed and was about to fall asleep, Alexa suddenly laughed loudly and creepily.

Amazon has acknowledged this problem and has changed the phrase, Alexa laugh to Alexa, can you laugh?

Recording a private conversation

One couple one day got a phone call from a contact in their phone who they haven’t spoken to in awhile. When they answered, they told their friend to unplug all the Alexas in their house as it has turned out that Alexa in their home has recorded a private conversation which has been sent as an audio file to a random contract. This issue has been brought to Amazon’s attention and said that it is something they would need to fix. In fact, they had made a public statement saying that “it was an extremely rare occurrence and we are taking steps to avoid this in the future.”

Alexa’s New Emotions

Towards the end of 2019, Alexa had something exciting and new to offer and that is the ability of Alexa to be able to respond with either a happy/excited or disappointed/empathic tone in the US. This only shows how fast and how much Alexa could improve.

Conclusion

Though Alexa could have privacy risks, a lot of people are still willing to welcome Alexa to their homes as it is very helpful and yet very entertaining. However, there comes a time when you would just wonder just how far could Amazon be able to innovate Alexa and push things before people start to unplug Alexa.
