How to Fix PS4 WiFi Connection Issue

Method 1 – Manually Select Frequency Band

  • Go to Settings
  • Select Network
  • Select Setup Internet Connection
  • Use WiFi

  • Open WiFi Frequency Bands
  • Select either 5.0 or 2.4 GHz.

Method 6 – Set up Static IP address for PS4

  • Go to settings
  • Select Network
  • Select view connection status
  • Take note of the IP address, subnet mask, default gateway
  • Go back to previous menu
  • Select Set up internet connection
  • Select use WiFi
  • Choose custom
  • Select Maual
  • Enter first three sections of your IP address
  • Enter your default gateway and subnet mask
  • Choose automatic MTU settings
  • Do not use for proxy server
  • Test your internet connection
  • Try to use your WiFi

Method 7 – Reboot your Router

  • Unplug the power cable of your router
  • Plug it gain after 10 to 15 seconds
  • Once your router is turned on, try to connect it with your PS4

Method 8 – Rearrange your setup

Try to place your PS4 where you could get best WiFi connection. The closer to your WiFI router the better.

Method 9 – Rebuild database on PS4

  • Turn your PS4 off
  • Press and hold the power button until you see that your PS4 is on safe mode
  • Connect Dualshock 4 controller to your PS4 using a USB cable
  • Press PlayStation button
  • Select rebuild database by using X button
  • Once your PS4 has booted up, sign into your PlayStation Network
  • Connect to your WiFi and you are good to go.
