Google intends to ban the mining extension

Google has issued a ban on the placement of extensions for the Chrome browser, facilitating the extraction of digital currencies.

In a statement, the technical giant noted that the removal of these extensions from the Chrome store will begin in July. Other applications associated with the block are not prohibited.

Earlier, the company allowed such extensions, as they were used exclusively for mining and informed users about its purpose.

However, according to the firm, the policy was not effective enough to deter or prevent the appearance of undesirable additions.

According to James Wagner, product manager at Google, the key to maintaining a healthy ecosystem is an open and flexible platform that enables creative and innovative extensions for browser users.

He also stressed that the ban was imposed only after the company was convinced that the majority of the Mining Extensions presented in the Chrome store did not comply with the rules.
