What do IT service providers want?

To acquire new customers, offer comprehensive services, and strengthen existing customer relationships. While this goal remains the same, the audience (and their requirements and preferences) has not. Heading into 2018, the top 2 priorities for IT service providers will be to secure new customers and focus on a few key vendors and technologies. Meanwhile, the top 3 challenges for IT service providers this year, are the expanding list of technology options, stiffer marketplace competition, and difficulty finding and hiring qualified staff.

  • The best ways for service providers to position themselves for success next year are by entering new markets and aggressively finding/retaining top talent.
  • The 2 most important things that service providers want when choosing new technology vendors are best-in-class software and a willingness to collaborate on sales and marketing efforts.
  • The most important aspects of client retention for service providers are dedicated support, and an experience in deploying & integrating client software.
  • The majority of respondents said that 26%-50% of their revenue is currently derived from cloud computing.
