Fiat has announced that every version of the 2018 Fiat 500 lineup will now be powered by a turbocharged engine. To go along with the sportier powertrain, the exterior of the 2018 Fiat 500 also gets some styling changes to give it a sportier look.
The 2018 Fiat 500 is available in three models: Pop, Lounge and the Abarth. Pop and Lounge 500 models are now powered by a 1.4-Liter Turbocharged four-cylinder engine that generates 135 horsepower and 150 lb.-ft. of torque – 34 more standard horsepower than last year’s Model. The 1.4L engine can be mated to either a five-speed manual or a six-speed automatic transmission. The 2018 Fiat 500 Abarth is powered by a more fun 1.4-liter turbocharged engine that delivers 160 horsepower and 183 lb.-ft. of torque.
Pop and Lounge models get standard 16-inch aluminum wheels, performance braking system, sport suspension and a rear backup camera. On the outside the front and rear fascias have been updated, side-sill ground effects have been added as well as a new spoiler, fog lamps and “Turbo” badging on the liftgate. The 500 Abarth adds 16-inch Hyper Black aluminum wheels, Pirelli tires, red brake calipers, and a “double-tip” dual-exhaust system.
The 500 lineup also features three new colors for 2018: Brillante Red, Mezzanotte Blue Pearl and Vesuvio Black Pearl.
