Forks are not something unusual in the cryptocurrency world. Take Bitcoin for example. It would take an hour to list all the Bitcoin forks. The downside of these forks is that they confuse investors because they share a similar name, such as Bitcoin Cash.
Despite the similar name, these forks are quite different because they are basically different versions of the original cryptocurrency, or at least they are supposed to be.
Charlie Lee Warns About Litecoin Cash
In case you didn’t know, Charlie Lee is the founder of Litecoin and he is quite vocal about his views and opinions over Twitter. The reason why he is making headlines today is because he recently warned investors about a new Litecoin fork that’s known as Litecoin Cash.
Even though this fork shares a similar name with Litecoin, Charlie Lee made sure to let everyone know that he and his team don’t have anything to do about it. In fact, Charlie Lee went even further and called Litecoin Cash a scam!
“The Litecoin team and I are not forking Litecoin. Any forks that you hear about is a scam trying to confuse you to think it’s related to Litecoin. Don’t fall for it and definitely don’t enter your private keys or seed into their website or client. Be careful out there!” said Charlie Lee over Twitter.
Scammers are Blocking Charlie Lee
As if this fork wasn’t suspicious enough, the people who are in charge of it have blocked Charlie Lee over Twitter so that they wouldn’t need to reply to him. This is what the Litecoin founder had to say about this:
“These scammers have also started to block me before they reply to my posts. So I don’t even see their posts. Twitter needs to do some machine learning to hide these scam and spam posts. It’s really getting out of hand”.
