Tesla is the world’s leading all-electric car manufacturer and there’s no doubt about that. However, there are many other car manufacturers which see the success that Tesla is receiving and they also want a piece of the cake. One of the companies that wants to compete head on against Tesla is none other than the famous Porsche.
Porsche Mission E
Porsche recently made headlines when it announced that its adding the finishing touches to Mission E which is going to be its first all-electric vehicle. As everybody already knows, Porsche represents luxury and top-notch engine performance, and this is exactly what Mission E will have to offer. Therefore, Tesla finally has a worthy competitor.
Mission E Leaked Specs
Fortunately for us and other car enthusiasts, Mission E’s full specs have been leaked. With that being said, the upcoming electric vehicle is going to feature 670 bhp and it will be available in three engine models. The models are as it goes: 420 bhp, 536 bhp and the aforementioned 670 bhp.
We should also mention that Porsche seems to be following Tesla’s pattern since Model S is available in models that range from 382 up to 691 horsepower. Sadly, Porsche Mission E’s battery size has not been leaked but Porsche did unveil that it will be able to last for around 300 miles with a single charge.
What’s interesting about the new Porsche car is that its engine power will be divided in two sides. The power is spread between the front and rear motors which will offer 215 bhp and 299 Nm of torque on the front side of all three models. In addition, the rear motor is believed to offer 322hp and 340 Nm or 429hp and 559 Nm of torque.
Lastly, Porsche Mission E is going to live to the Porsche brand by going from 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds. Although, this is significantly slower than Tesla’s Model S P100D which needs only 2.5 seconds.
