It is an undisputed fact that most of the success of a game is determined by its sales. Lots of customers doesn’t mean only a big profit, but a huge popularity as well. In fact, if a game does well on the market, there is a bigger chance that the company might begin to work on a sequel.
If we take a look at the US, the game industry is a big one, and in September around $744 million were spent on video games. Let’s see what were the most profitable games last month.
The number one is without a doubt Destiny 2. The game managed to generate an impressive revenue, that was bigger than the one of Destiny 1, and that is after just one month on the market. This game managed to occupy the first position even without counting the Digital Sales, which is even more impressive since most players prefer digital sales nowadays.
The second place is occupied by NBA 2K18, which proves that sports games are still popular. It is important to note that after the launch of Xbox One and PS4 this game had “largest consumer spend in launch month of any sports genre title”.
