This news comes as Lenovo K8 series were said to be launched with an Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. And it’s been a while, since the Lenovo K8 Note smartphone got launched in August, this year and the Lenovo K8 and K8 Plus got launched one month later. So, whoever owns one of these three Lenovo smartphones, has to wait another nine months to get a newer operating system. Users that own a Lenovo K8 or a Lenovo K8 Note will probably see it running on Android 8.0 Oreo in June, next year and those that have a Lenovo K8 Plus will have Android 8.0 Oreo one month later.
We Might See Android 8.0 Oreo Earlier than June 2018
Looking at the stock Android that these smartphones are running, we believe that the updated operating system will roll out a lot faster than nine months, and the company may have given such a delayed due date so that they can deliver what they have promised without any other future delays. The company and the partners that are dealing with the hardware parts only have to do some tweaks in order to have a build for Oreo on Lenovo K8, K8 Note and K8 Plus.
With Lenovo confirming that they are working on upgrading their smartphones to the latest Android operating system, we can add more smartphones to the list of Android devices that are eligible for the Android 8.0 Oreo release.
If you don’t get it why there is a lot of fuss with the newest Android operating system, then you should see what it features: Android instant apps, picture – in – picture mode, notification channel, notification dots, fast boot time, new UI tweaks and a lot more things that focus on improving accessibility, security and performance.
