Even after the Xbox Series S and Series X launch date announcement, Sony hasn’t released the official information about the launch of its next-generation console, the PlayStation 5. Rumors surfacing online giving us the supposed prices of the two editions of the PS5. We even received information that indicates supposed support between generations of some PS4 titles.
Recently, the artwork on the box for Immortals Fenyx Rising, you can see that Sony added a “PS5 Upgrade Available” branding that shows when the game has an update available for support on PlayStation 5. It’s worth noting that Immortals Fenyx Rising had its name changed earlier this month – formerly Gods and Monsters.
Now, this suggests that gamers who want to know if any PlayStation 4 games can be upgraded to experience the benefits of the next-gen console for free, should look for the “PS5: Upgrade Available” branding (or “PS5: Upgrade available”) on the title packaging.
For now, Sony has not yet shared much information about intergenerational support or backward compatibility for the PlayStation 5.
