Telenor Feeds Thousands This Ramzan with “Donate a Meal” Campaign

The # ShareYourMeal Campaign of Telenor Pakistan, focused on bringing food to the table of those who need it most in our society, decided in a graceful ceremony in Karachi. The groundwork of the campaign was carried out earlier this month in Peshawar, Quetta, Islamabad and Lahore. This is the 4th consecutive year that Telenor Pakistan has successfully implemented this campaign and has contributed to fighting hunger and poverty in the country

This year the campaign tag "Is Ramzan Koi plate khali nahi jayegi" helped to convey the message via a DVC followed by an intensive digital campaign to strengthen the commitment of Telenor Pakistan to strengthen societies and to engage everyone encourage a noble contribution to deliver cause.

Since 2015, every Ramzan has granted the # ShareYourMeal campaign a certain amount to fight hunger against any photo of Sehr and Iftar meals shared by the public on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram with the #ShareYourMeal hashtag. The proceeds from the 2018 campaign were used to pay food rations to thousands of people in Quetta, Peshawar, Lahore, Islamabad and Karachi with the support of the Pakistan Red Crescent Society. This is one of the different initiatives of Telenor Pakistan to give back to those in need and to strengthen societies through the help of its customers and social target groups.

"We owe our sincere gratitude to the people of Pakistan for making #ShareYourMeal a hugely successful campaign this year through various social media platforms that resulted in serving more than 3,000 beneficiaries," said Irfan Wahab Khan, CEO of Telenor Pakistan.

"We are here to strengthen Pakistani society and to help it fight the long-standing challenges of hunger and poverty, in line with the promise and commitment of Telenor Pakistan for the Sustainable United Nations Development Goal 10, reducing inequalities, #ShareYourMeal is our modest contribution to combating these challenges and bringing food to earn in the holy month of Ramzan. "

Telenor Pakistan started the # TweetAMeal campaign in 2015 to ask people to take pictures of their Ramazan meals, after which certain donations were made to those who need them most against every tweet. In 2016, Telenor Pakistan, in collaboration with Pakistan Bait-ul-Maal, distributed food stocks to the deserving families in Thar, one of the most impoverished areas of Pakistan. In 2017, the campaign name was changed to #ShareYourMeal, Telenor Pakistan worked with the Pakistan Red Crescent Society to pay food rations to thousands of people in the hunger-ridden city of Bannu under the same campaign.
