A recent report from Strategy Analytics compares the recently launched Sony Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact with other smartphones with a comparable battery capacity.
The two phones have the crown in a diverse playing field consisting of the Apple iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S9, LG G6, Huawei P10 and Oppo R11.
Based on results achieved through testing, the Xperia XZ2 was the most durable phone in the company's tests, lasting 36 hours and a minute. It twisted its compact version, which lasted 34 hours and 20 minutes.

It was followed by the LG G6 while the more regular rivals, the iPhone X (32:20), Huawei P10 (32:08) and Galaxy S9 stayed behind. Especially the S9 at 26 hours, 52 minutes and Oppo R11 at 16 hours and 36 minutes came as a big surprise.
The test saw the researchers test the phones for 16 hours on pre-set test parameters, passing them through the usual list of tasks that the phones normally go through, such as calls, texts, social media, camera & # 39; s and games.
The brightness is set at 150 nits for all phones, with the volume set to a maximum. The rest of the settings are set to produce by default and are not changed. The time that the battery was emptied was then measured.
Strategy Analytics does mention that the tests were carried out at the request of Sony, but given its reputation we doubt that the outcome was in any way partial. However, Sony has several other battles to overcome if it has to position itself as a viable alternative for Apple and Samsung.
