After many leaks and rumours, Xiaomi has launched a new Redmi smartphone in China called the Xiaomi Redmi S2. The Xiaomi Redmi S2 is priced at CNY 999 around ₹10,500 for the 3GB RAM + 32GB internal storage variant and CNY 1,299 around ₹13,500 for the 4GB RAM + 64GB internal storage variant. It is available in Champagne Gold, Platinum Silver and Rose Gold Colour variants.
Redmi S2 will go on sale in China on 17th May at 10 am via Suning.com. The budget Xiaomi smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 625 processor coupled with 3GB/4GB RAM and 32GB/64GB of internal storage. It sports a 5.99-inch HD+ 18:9 aspect ratio display and runs on MIUI 9 based on Android Oreo.

The dual-SIM smartphone supports microSD card up to 256GB and houses a 3080mAh battery. Coming to the main USP of the smartphone, Redmi S2 sports a 16-megapixel selfie camera with 2-micron pixels. It comes with the popular face unlock feature along with AI portrait mode, AI beauty mode, and Front HDR mode.
Xiaomi is calling it the best Redmi selfie phone ever. The smartphone comes with a dual rear camera setup with a 12-megapixel primary sensor and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor. It comes with a f/2.2 aperture, PDAF, and a LED light. The rear camera also comes with the popular portrait mode.

The Redmi smartphone uses micro-USB for charging and data syncing and comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack. In terms of connectivity, it comes with 4G VoLTE, WiFI, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.
