Earlier this week we told you that LG will be launching the first 88-inch 8K OLED panel at CES 2018 and now Samsung has announced that they will launch the first Thunderbolt 3 QLED curved monitor. The monitor is called Samsung CJ791, which comes with Intel’s Thunderbolt 3 connectivity.
With the high-bandwidth Thunderbolt 3 port, you will be able to receive video from your laptop and at the same time provide power to it with up to 85W of power. The monitor is 34 inches diagonally and comes with 21:9 aspect ratio with 3,440 x 1,440 resolution. It has a 4 millisecond response time.
The Thunderbolt 3 uses USB type-C port, so it will work with all type -c accessories including, laptops, Macs, Docs, and other peripheral devices. The Thunderbolt 3 connection provides processing speed of up to 40 Gigabits per second (Gbps) – a rate nearly four times faster than USB alternatives.
