A new Samsung patent that was published today shows a smartphone with a wraparound display making it a dual-sided display smartphone. We don’t know much about the patent which was filed with US Patent and Trademark Office on 2nd September 2016.
Do you remember the original Note Edge? Imagine that note edge display extending to back from the side. There 10 drawings related to the concept. The display wraps around to the back but at the rear side, the display is almost half the size of the display at the front.
We don’t know how Samsung plans to utilize the display at the back. We have seen Meizu use a rear display on the smartphone but having a wraparound display is yet to be seen. Samsung might use the rear display for shortcuts and some specific apps.
