Google has begun rolling out version 2.0 for its recently launched smart messaging app Google Allo. The new major update brings a number of new incredible features that will enhance the user experience.
Google Allo v2.0 Supports Quick Reply, GIF Keyboard
One of the best features in this update is quick reply, which allows users to directly reply from the notifications, much like quick replies on Hangouts and Google Messenger.
Again, being similar like Hangouts and Google Messenger, you can now reply with your voice or with emojis on Android Wear. Simply tap reply on the notification and either start speaking, or tap ‘Draw Emoji’. You can still reply with the automated responses too.
Allo now also support for sending GIFs via keyboards on Android 7.1 and above. Another new great feature is the multi-window mode that allows users to chat in one window while also working with another app on the same screen.
The new features were revealed by Justin Uberti, co-lead for Allo project, through his Twitter account. The following is the detailed changelog for the release.
- Quick reply
- App shortcuts (Android 7.1 or above)
- GIFs via keyboard (Android 7.1 or above)
- Direct share
- Incognito key alerts
- Multi-window
- Splash screen
- Landscape
The update is started rolling out in the Play Store, but if you can’t wait, you can download it from APKMirror as well.
