Ujaas’ World Environment Day initiative

As landmarks across the world will turn green to celebrate World Environment Day, Ujaas will lit Indore’s iconic landmark Rajwada in green. A product of Maratha architecture, the heritage building lies in the heart of the city and is the pride of Indore. The city of Indore has made several achievements in past couple of years, from qualifying the smart city contest to becoming the cleanest city in Swachh Bharat Survey. As the city becomes cleaner and greener, Ujaas aims to continue the progress made by people of the city by implementing environment-friendly energy solutions. This World Environment Day, support our initiative by joining us in Rajwada and installing Rooftop Solar in your home.

What has Ujaas done for the environment?

Energy security has been the root of many environmental issues plaguing our planet. Countries need to consume more energy to grow their economy so that they can provide their citizens with a higher standard of living. Historically, this economic growth has been achieved on the back of fossil fuel which is now in the spotlight for being the major cause of climate change. But renewable energy is changing this status quo and Ujaas is playing a leading role to bring this change in India.

Since entering the Solar Space in India, Ujaas has added 40-50 MW of solar capacity. The 2017 target is to increase this figure to 200 MW. To give you some perspective, 200 MW of solar capacity is equivalent to

• Fending off 2.92 lakh tonnes of CO₂ emissions
• Saving 2,76,408 acres of forests
• Saving 1.4 lakh tonnes of coal

This year, we launched Ujaas Home to provide Rooftop Solar system for residential buildings and inaugurated Madhya Pradesh’s first net metered Rooftop Solar System on April 26. With Ujaas Home, we have made solar energy accessible to ordinary households.
