While this week’s schedule of new releases might seem meager, there are a few notable titles hitting digital distribution channels. For PlayStation 4 owners, Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone brings a generous collection of vocaloid love, which might have got buried if released during the holidays. For PC owners, the port of Criminal Girls: Invite Only brings Nippon Ichi Software’s rehabilitation-themed role-playing game to a wider audience, who might just enjoy the playful punishment mini-games. And for retro enthusiasts, there’s Pokémon Snap, that delightfully relaxing game where photojournalism meets Pikachu.

Robert’s Pick: As a port of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Arcade, this week’s release of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone forgoes the DIVA Room, where players could interact with the teal-haired temptress and her fellow vocaloids. But beyond that minor shortfall, Future delivers the goods, extending a compilation of over two-hundred different songs for Miku-maniacs. Another glowing upside is the costume selection, allowing Cypton Future Media’s spokesperson to sashay in yukata and geta (or even loligoth attire) while singing “Catfood”. For me, makes the dual package of Future Sound+ Colorful Tone nothing less than requisite. For those on the fence, give the Prelude! demo a spin.
