West Ham United showed no signs of slowing down and continued their steady climb in the league table with a solid 2-0 win over rivals Fulham yesterday.



The away team got the job done in the London derby within the first half an hour to climb into the top half of the table and their current league position is no less than what they deserve after making some effective changes under new boss Manuel Pellegrini.

The former Manchester City boss had a huge task on his hands when he took over the reigns at the London Stadium this summer and certainly didn’t get off to the greatest of starts as the Hammers were dealt 4 crushing defeats during their opening league matches.

But his side has since responded to the Chilean’s battle cries and their latest triumph at Craven Cottage marks their fourth win on the trot, a feat not achieved by the Londoners for almost five years straight.

In another clear indication of the progress that is being made under Pellegrini, BBC have come up with some mind boggling stats regarding the performance of their attack force.

The supporters would have surely noticed a new ruthless streak about their team but even the fans could be surprised when they come to know that the Hammers’ attack ranks amongst the best in the league, second best only to the likes of Manchester City, Arsenal and Chelsea in terms of number of players who have scored two or more goals this season.

With Hernandez, Anderson, Arnautovic, Perez, Antonio, Snodgrass and Yarmolenko all regularly finding the net this season, these stats are solid proof of the brilliant work being done by Pellegrini to turn a team criticized for their troubles in front of goal last season into one of the most in-form attacks in England.

With the Chilean himself hinting at possible incomings during the January window, Hammers fans could very well be treated to such stats even more as the club pushes towards the Europa League spots in the coming half of the season.
