Paul Heckingbottom helped push his former club closer to relegation as his Leeds side beat Barnsley 2-1 at Elland Road, ending a disastrous 5 game barren run with the result providing some much needed relief for the home supporters.
Goals from Tom Pearce and Ezgjan Alioski ensured that all 3 points were in the bag at the end of 90 minutes.
Tom Pearce was especially brilliant for Leeds as the 20-year-old was solid at the back and capitalized on some loose defending by the Tykes before unleashing a left-footed strike to score his first senior goal for the club.
Following the full time whistle, the left-back was seen interacting with a bunch of academy youngsters on the sidelines as his teammates were off celebrating the win.
Given how the left-back rose through the ranks at Elland Road before being promoted to the first team, the gesture delighted supporters who praised the youngster for staying true to his roots on Twitter.
