Arsene Wenger expressed his sadness in a recent presser when describing Santi Carzola’s injury problems as the Spanish Midfielder had surgery on his ankle for a staggering ninth time in 14 months.
At one stage a bacterial infection could have seen the midfielder lose his leg, but the Spaniard battled the odds and a potential return in January was mooted in the Arsenal camp.
Those plans were however put on hold as the midfielder had to undergo another series of surgeries following a further setback at the start of December.
Gunners fans have expressed their agony at not having been able to see the Spanish midfielder as often as they would have liked in the past with the former Malaga man’s time in England marred with injuries.
However the Spaniard was reminded that he has not been forgotten in North London as Gooners came up with a heartwarming banner in honor of the midfielder at the Emirates during the 3-3 against Liverpool yesterday.
