And Wednesday night’s Champions League encounter with Benfica proved to be just another match where Martial showcased his deadly arsenal of pace and trickery after coming on for Rashford in the second half.

Perhaps one moment that best summed this up was the time when Martial effortlessly glided past two Benfica defenders to race clear at the goal.
