(Video) Arsenal star spotted going through an unusual training routine before the clash v Red Star Belgrade

In the realm of goalkeepers, Arsenal custodian Petr Cech is without qualm a novelty of sorts. In the wake of the Europa League clash against Serbian club Red Star Belgrade on Thursday, the Czech was captured going through his warm-up routine, albeit with a novel twist.

With the assistance of Arsenal goalkeeping colleague Matt Macey, the 35-year-old put himself through the Ping-Pong ball routine. In this unorthodox warm-up, Cech is seen catching table tennis balls shot out of a gun before dropping them into a bucket. He was also seen touching a set of cones on poles in the interesting routine called the “table tennis robot warm up”. Cech faced a total of 31 balls of various colours – blue, yellow, white and pink, catching 25, dropping five and allowing one past him.

Cech will hope that this inventive workout helps him in getting better in between the sticks and finally saving a penalty in Arsenal colours, a feat that has eluded him so far.
