Promotion hopefuls Leeds United secured the most dramatic of draws as Chris Woods scored a late late equalizer to hand Leeds United a share of points against Newcastle United on Friday.
In what promised to be one of the most exciting encounters on paper, the match turned out to be a thoroughly one sided affair with Newcastle United exerting their dominance over the course of the entire 90 minutes of regulated time.
It was only an inspired performance from Leeds custodian Rob Green who aside from the Jammal Lascelles goal in the second half stood firm in the face of Newcastle registering a whopping 22 attempts at goal along with 19 corners.
Newcastle’s profligacy in front of goal surely did cost them dearly when Leeds striker Chris Wood scored a late 95th minute equalizer to shock St.James Park and send Leeds United supporters in delirium.
With their team dominating Leeds in every respect, the manner of Leeds equalizer surely left the Newcastle fans in utter shock with their disbelief and helplessness best summed up in a picture captured right at the moment of Chris Wood’s equalizer.
