On a night where football fans around the world eagerly waited in anticipation for the Champions League quarter-final tie between Burossia Dortmund and AS Monaco, three explosions targeting the Dortmund team bus left the BVB team and the world in shock.
The explosions occurred around 7.15 pm on Tuesday night as the team bus was taking the Dortmund players to the Westfalenstadion stadium for the tie against French club AS Monaco.
The explosions smashed several windows of the team bus with Spanish defender Marc Bartra needing medical attention after suffering an arm injury.
Following the appalling attack, the football community around the world united to show their support for Borussia Dortmund. In what was a truly stirring show of solidarity, English giants and fierce rivals Liverpool and Manchester United were among the many clubs to come forward to show their support for Dortmund.
