Brazil scored a big win over Venezuela in the opening match of the Copa America 2021

The opening match of the Copa America 2021 between Brazil and Venezuela was held in Brasilia at the Mane Garrincha National Stadium. The major victory in the match was won by the hosts of the tournament – 3:0.

The score was opened on 23 minutes of the match by Brazilian national team defender Marquinhos. In the second half his PSG team-mate Neymar doubled the advantage, having converted an awarded 11-meter penalty. On 89 minutes, forward Gabriel, who had replaced him, made the final score.

Note that a few days before the match the Venezuelan national team had an outbreak of coronavirus infection. The day before the game with Brazil, the team added 15 players.

The tournament was originally supposed to be held in Argentina and Colombia, but was moved to Brazil due to protests in Colombia and the dangerous epidemiological situation in Argentina. Earlier it was reported that the Brazilian national team plans to boycott the Copa America, but the team still decided to participate in the tournament.
