Last night Mitch Marner scored one of the prettiest goals you will ever see (Last video in post). The level of skill and confidence it takes to pull a goal like that off in a close game vs a team that beat you the last time you played is off the charts good. Oh and he is averaging over 2 points a game.

William Nylander is scoring at a 1.33 point per game pace. MightI add this is all as a 19 year old in the AHL. Not since the days of Sittler and Salming have the Leafs had two prospects with this much talent. The Marlies have currently hold a 12 point cushion for 1st overall in the AHL. Not their division, not their conference, THE ENTIRE LEAGUE!

There are a host of prospects having tremendous Junior seasons. There is also Johnson in Sweden, potting goals will regularity, in the best league over there. Not to mention the leafs currently have the best shot at the drafting Austin Matthews, Jesse Puljujarvi or Patrik Laine. Even if they lose the Draft Lottery all together they could end up with Matthew Tkachuk or Jakob Chychrun. Ladies and Gentlemen, Children of all ages!!!! The Maple Leafs Cupboards are getting fuller, and I LIKE IT.

Off in the distance I can see it, it’s getting bigger, it’s getting brighter, it’s even feeling warmer on the coldest day in Mississauga’s history.  If you can’t see, it open your eyes. If you can’t feel it, check your pulse. It’s the fucking light at the end of the tunnel! It is still in the distance, but, the not so distant future.

And all of this was made abundantly clear by this…

And This…..

I feel good, I feel optimistic, I feel like anything when it comes to the future of this team anything is possible.  We are going to not just be good but FUCKING great.  I can’t wait.

There is some talk out there that Stamkos doesn’t want to sign in Toronto because he doesn’t want to be part of a rebuild. That may in fact be true.  Someone should send him this clip…

If he is having doubts that clip could change his mind.

There is a game tonight the Leafs are playing the Canucks, but fuck that, I might just watch this on loop for 60 minutes instead….
