Liverpool fans are still dreaming hoping for the best possible result their team can get in this 2018-2019 football season. We’ve seen so much and yet, it’s not over. The biggest game of the season is on the way. THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL!

This is more than a chance to win a trophy. We all know what that’s like. If you have been a fan for at least ten years then you’ve seen Liverpool win the League Cup in 2012.

Trophies are great and all, but there’s more to it than just claiming yet another piece of silverware for the club.

This is the season’s hopes and dreams, all come true. This is prayers received and then answered for the fans. This is the wishes of every Red around the world, granted. This is UNITY. Rarely do many millions of people come together in such large numbers to show belief, loyalty, respect, admiration and love for the one thing they’re supporting. Football brings people together in the most amazing ways.

The emotions will run high yet again. The passion will build up and up until it bursts out of you in songs about Liverpool football club. The tears will run down your face and I bare no shame in telling you that I have cried over Liverpool. When Virgil Van Dijk leaped into the air above every other player on the pitch to scored the most beautiful header I’ve ever seen in my life – I was crying. When Divock Origi scored against Barcelona, helping us to the 4-3 aggregate score that would qualify us for the Champions League Final – I was crying. THESE ARE THE TIMES WE REMEMBER and the way we felt as it happened is just as important as the results our team got. We’ll talk for years about how we burst into tears as we beat the “unbeatable Barcelona” who had a 3 goal lead over us before they arrived in Liverpool. THEN WE WENT TO ANFIELD AND OH, WHAT AN EMOTIONAL NIGHT!

I hope you’re old enough to have watched Liverpool in 2005 as we lifted the most coveted trophy in European football for the 5th time in our club’s history.

THIS TIME, may be just as special. Madrid is full of the same hopes and dreams that carried our players from losing 3-0 at half time against A.C Milan to the 3-3 result which led to the penalty shoot out we would win. DREAM of victory. BELIEVE the dreams. LIVE THE DREAMS. You’re all a part of them. You’re making it happen. Without fans, football is just a game played by 11 men against 11 men. WITH YOU, we’re dreaming big. WITH YOU, the world will watch as our team gives it’s all to make you happy and make your dreams come true.

We have words to live by. We have meaning in the songs we hear every time our club comes out onto the pitch. This isn’t Karaoke… THIS IS A PART OF LIVERPOOL FC. I want you to not just sing, but to BELIEVE. TO HOLD THE RED LIVERPOOL SCARVES UP HIGH AND TRULY BELIEVE that these are the words that will motivate our players to the victory that is coming in Madrid.

When you walk through a storm
Hold your head up high
And don’t be afraid of the dark
At the end of a storm
There’s a golden sky
And the sweet silver song of a lark
Walk on through the wind
Walk on through the rain
Though your dreams be tossed and blown
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone
Walk on, walk on
With hope in your heart
And you’ll never walk alone
You’ll never walk alone

What else do we need? WE SUPPORT. WE BELIEVE. WE DREAM our dreams and you know, sometimes those dreams come true. I’ve seen it. I’ve been there. You will too soon, Anfield Family.

I’m an Englishman (born and raised in Liverpool in the 80s). My whole family including my parents and grandparents were Liverpool fans so I was born into being a red.

I’ve seen Liverpool win the league (more than 25 years ago) and I’ve been 100% loyal and committed while supporting the Reds through all the good times AND the bad times since the 80s.
